Food Journal and Food Porn

I ate and took pictures.  And attempted to count my calories – I think I ended around 1800?   As I have mentioned earlier, my master plan is to eat the same thing for breakfast and basically the same thing for lunch.  My reasoning behind this (beyond Dr. Oz approving) is that most of us eat the same things over and over again.  So I am embracing this  and acknowledge that I am a lazy eater and have other things to worry about rather than what I am eating.  Hence, a lot of the same.  I’ll continue on this path until I am utterly sick of it.     For breakfast – I have Thomas English Muffins (they are seriously the best!)  and Blue Diamond Almond Butter.   I also have an Activia (Strawberry and Fiber).

 For lunch I normally have a salad – however, today I went out with husband to a wonderful fish market.  We both had Shrimp Scampi with Garlic and Butter Linguini.  And let me tell you – there was no kissing or getting close to anyone with my breath.   Garlic coated the shrimp like breading on fried chicken.  It was wonderful.   The butter part of it – not so much.  In an effort to reduce my caloric intake I didn’t have the roll or coleslaw that came with the meal.  I also didn’t use all the butter and garlic sauce.    I wish my picture did the meal justice – it is bad food porn.  Photography skills (and a new camera) are something I need to work on.   

Unfortunately, I was still hungry after my meal – so I had another (new) snack favorite of mine – Sabra hummus and little carrots (I am lazy).   Then, I wanted to cleanse my mouth of garlic and went for snack choice #1 – Edy’s Popsciles.  Lime and Lemonade make my mouth happy.  And they are “clean”.   

My eating concluded  with dinner (ok, I had another Activia and a few choco chips after dinner).  Had a ton of veggies (including a salad not shown) a little bit of steak, chicken and potatoes.

    I listen to Dr. Oz too! He said drink coffee for weight loss so I drink coffee! Ha ha! I love the dish with the shrimps. Looks fabulous!

    i usually eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch too. cereal because i LOVE it. and raw spinach and tuna (or salmon) at lunch becausse, well, it’s good for me. glad to know i’m not the only one 🙂

    I confess…I get stuck in the pattern of eating the SAME thing for breakfast too, lol…it’s tough when you LOVE what you have!

    Yes, I agree with the ease of knowing you do not have to “food plan.” Love how you embedded the pics in your blog post…it is really cool to have a visual : )
