Training Summary

At present, my big training event is the MiamiMan Triathlon on November 14 2010.    .6 Swim, 22 miles bike, and 6.6 miles running.   So everything is really being done to support that and my training.  After I complete that goal I want to do a half marathon – I have a LONG way to go.  Please note that prior to my last pregnancy I was already finishing sprint triathlons – so I am not starting completely from scratch – although it certainly feels that way and looks that way.

Please note that my one big  hurtle is that my husband travels a lot.  So on days that he is away I can’t bike, swim or run – I am stuck walking or doing a DVD.

Events:   Sept. 9th 5K, Sept 23rd 5K;   October 3rd Sprint Tri ,  October 23rd 10K; November 14th The big one…. (pray for me)

Best Times (post pregnancy): 10:46 mile

Longest Run (post pregnancy):  5 miles – 1:00

Training Summary:

Week 1: 7/25: Run (2.4 miles) 7/26: Bike (1:05) 7/27 (Rest – hurt knee); 7/28 (Rest) 7/29 (Rest) 7/30 ( Rest)  7/31 (Walked 2 miles) 8/1 ( Ran 2.44 miles).

Week 2: 8/2 (Shred DVD);  8/3 (30 minute run) 8/4 (Rest) 8/5 (Shred/Walk) 8/6  (1 mile run/Walk) 8/7:  (1:25; 17.65 mile); 12.5 bike) 8/8 (26 min run).

Week 3: 8/9 (1:16; 16.5 mile, 13.5 pace) 8/10 (29 min. run) 8/11 (1:00, 13 miles, 13.35 pace) 8/12 (40 min run) 8/13 (rest) 8/14 (rest) 8/15   (44 min run)

August 16-22 (A very bad week overall – husband was out of town 4 days and I couldn’t have a sitter to save my life).  This can’t happen again!

  • Monday – Rest (sick)
  • Tuesday –Bike 1:00   14.2 miles (14.2 pace)
  • Wednesday – Run 15 min/Swim 40m – 2000yards
  • Thursday- Bike 1:15
  • Friday-  Run 1:00 Swim 1800
  • Saturday – Bike 1:05 Swim 45 1100 yards
  • Sunday – Run 35 Bike 45

August 23-29     Vacation with no pool or bike….it could have been worse.

  • Monday (Husband Gone)
  • Tuesday – Bike 1:15 (only did 30 – bike chain broke:() Run 30
  • Wednesday – Bike 1:30 Swim 50m
  • Thursday – Bike 1:00  (Vacation)
  • Friday – Run 60 Swim 45 min (Vacation)

August 30-Sept. 5

  • Monday – Bike 60
  • Tuesday – Run 40 Swim 40
  • Wednesday – Bike 1:30 (only did 40 minutes)
  • Thursday – Rest
  • Friday – Run 45  Swim 60
  • Saturday –  Bike 45min    Swim 60
  • Sunday – Run 45min

Sept. 6 – 12

  • Monday – Rest/Labor Day (I am tired)
  • Tuesday – Bike 60 min (only did 40).; Run 30 minutes; Swim 25 min  (did 15 min)
  • Wednesday – Run 50 min; Swim 40 minutes
  • Thursday – Bike 1:15;  Run 40 (5k race!)
  • Friday –  Run 20-30;  Bike 1:00; Swim 50 min (did 25 min)
  • Saturday – Bike 60; Run 1:30 (DID 8 MILES! – a little less than 1:30)
  • Sunday – Bike 2:00 

Sept. 13-19

         Swam twice, ran twice, biked one (three workouts total – low point of my tri training)

8 more weeks to go – Time to SH*T or get off the pot.  And I choose to be SH*TTY!  Ok, I thought it was funny…

Goal Time:  Overall under 2:45; Swim 21 minutes (.6); Bike 1:15 (22 miles, 18 min pace); Run 1:05 (6K, 9:30 pace). 

Sept. 20 – 26

  • Monday : 20 bike (EXTRA); 35 min run
  • Tuesday:  Swim 25; Run 46 (Only ran 30)
  • Wednesday: Swim 46; Bike 70
  • Thursday: Bike 94 (only did 40 minutes)
  • Friday: 20-30 min run (EXTRA); 58 Swim
  • Saturday: Off
  • Sunday: 60 Bike; 60 Run (only did 30 min)

Sept. 27- Oct. 3

  • Monday: 75 min run
  • Tuesday:   51 Swim
  • Wednesday:  102 Bike
  • Thursday:  128 Bike
  • Friday: 64 Swim; 38 Run
  • Saturday: Off
  • Sunday:  Sprint Tri:  .3 Swim; 14 Bike; 3.1 Run!  (Pray for me – seriously)
